About Us
Armature Studio is located in Austin, Texas and was founded by the key developers of the Metroid Prime franchise. We currently employ a team of industry veterans with experience on numerous games including Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2, the Wing Commander series, Sub Culture, and many more. We aim to keep the creative flexibility of a small independent studio while partnering with publishers to create compelling, high end games.

Open Positions
Full-Time: Full-Time or Contract:Producer
Working closely with the project Directors, the Producer will:
- Build and maintain the art, design, and tech schedules in coordination with the relevant directors
- Drive all phases of the product development cycle from design through implementation
- Provide visibility and accountability on progress in all areas
- Identify, establish and maintain industry best practices, and lead the team in executing them effectively
- Help to maintain a healthy and positive company culture
- Respond proactively to problems before they impact the team or the schedule, identify and resolve dependencies before they trigger, and assist in maintaining the risk management plan
- Identify and resolve conflicts between schedule, budget and development goals
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of the lifecycle and methodologies of game development
- At least 2 published games to your credit
- At least 3 years of experience in the game industry, at least 2 in a production capacity
- Very strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to both individuals and groups
- Ability to plan, document and maintain schedules from preproduction to post-launch for a full team and outsourced/co-development team
- Ability to balance a project’s production requirements with schedule, budget and staffing limitations
- Ability to take in, organize and manage information across multiple departments

Character Modeler
Working closely with the Art Director, the Character Artist will be primarily responsible for creating high quality character models and textures for our upcoming projects.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional knowledge of human anatomy with special attention to form, color and silhouette.
- Great design sense for materials, contrast of details, and flow of shapes.
- Expert knowledge of Maya(Max, XSI), Zbrush, and Photoshop.
- Good flow for bake down from high poly models to low poly in game mesh
- Very strong texturing skills required.
- Ability to be receptive to art direction and to perform well within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills
- Strong ability to design characters from concept stage, through block out modes, and into final production.
- Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Special focus on hard surface modeling/designing would be a major plus.
- 3 yrs game experience preferred.

Animator
Working closely with the Art Director, Lead and Senior Animators, Riggers, Engineers, and Designers, Animators are responsible for executing the animation vision for our upcoming projects.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience (and/or a 4 or 5 star reel and a lot of passion)
- Demoreel must show strong hand keyed physical animation with bipeds and more complex non bipeds as well as character performance work
- Maya experience (Ideally 6 months or more)
- Cinematic (film making) skills a strong plus. Should be able to demonstrate these skills (FMV, cut-scenes, short film, commercial, previs, etc...)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Candidates must have a US work permit

Systems Engineer
The Systems Engineer will work closely with the Technical Director to develop innovative software solutions for our upcoming projects. This role will also involve close collaboration with artists and designers as well as helping to influence the technical direction of projects.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of industry experience working as a software engineer with at least 1 shipped AAA title
- Proficient in C/C++
- Ability to both design and work within various scripting languages
- Strong 3D math skills
- Can work with other departments and assess and address game systems needs
- Able to grasp the big picture of how various systems must interact
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work within a highly dynamic startup environment where team members typically have multiple responsibilities
- Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision
